Shirley Mae Lazoff (nee: Stewart), age 88, passed away peacefully in North Carolina on September 21, 2017.

After high school graduation in January 1947 from Lorain High School, Shirley was employed at her alma mater as secretary to the principal.

She met the love of her life, George Lazoff. The would enjoy going to Crystal Beach in Vermilion where they met friends and danced.  Their courtship lasted two years and they joyously married on August 27, 1950.

The young family of four lived in Lorain, then moved to Amherst.  When the children got older, Shirley worked as a cashier at Higgins Pharmacy, then as a library aide at Marion L. Steele High School.

George and Shirley happily celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in August 2010, just several months prior to George’s passing at age 80.
