Harold M. “Mickey” Bainbridge, age 80, of Lorain, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday December 10, 2017 while visiting family members in Port Charlotte, Florida. Born in Lorain on September 11, 1937, he was life-long resident of Lorain County.

Mickey was a 1956 graduate of Lorain High School. He later attended Lorain County Community College where he pursued courses focused on business.

He served in the United States Navy from 1956 through 1959 where he fulfilled duty assignments as an EMP 3rd Class aboard the amphibious force command ship USS Mount McKinley.

Mickey was employed as Parts Manager for Liberty Ford for twenty-five years prior to his retirement; he had previously worked in the same capacity for thirteen years at Ed Mullinax Ford in Amherst.

He was an active parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lorain where he served as an usher as well as a Eucharistic Minister. He coached CYO football and basketball there and was the first parishioner to be appointed Athletic Director. Mickey was also active as a member of the Holy Name Society and had once been recognized as its Man of the Year. In addition, he dedicated many hours of service to pierogi production for the parish fundraisers.

When not involved in church activities, Mickey could be found golfing or spending time working in his vegetable garden.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-six years Carol (nee Saltis), sons Michael (Melissa) of Amherst, and Jeff (Shelly) of Lorain. He also leaves grandchildren McKenzie, Madison, T.J., Megan, and Jim, along with brother Chuck (Patty) Bainbridge of Port Charlotte, sisters Jill Bainbridge of Lorain, Jackie (Dan) Leach of Roselawn, Indiana, and a host of nieces and nephews who he thought very highly of.

He was preceded in death by his parents Harold N. and LaNorda (nee Schroeder) Bainbridge.
