Gluvna Shimo Hromada

Norma Jean Turizziani, (nee Karabadan), age 87, passed away at Mercy Allen Hospital on the evening of Thursday February 8, 2018 following a brief illness. Norma was born in Lorain on December 14, 1930 and was a 1948-B graduate of Lorain High School.

She had been employed by the Lorain Public School System for twenty-one years and served as the food service manager at Meister Road School

A parishioner of St. Peter Parish, Mrs. Turizziani was a fan of classical music. She was also an accomplished cook specializing in Italian cuisine and was well known for her special sugar cookie recipe. Her prowess in the kitchen earned her the title of “best cook in Lorain” from her family and close friends.

Survivors include her husband of sixty-seven years Jordan “Terry” Turizziani, and sons Robert of Charleston, West Virginia, Brian (Dar) of Birmingham, and Randy (Mary) of Wellington. She also leaves grandchildren Brian, Monica, Alecia, and Brandon, great grandson Kolton, and her loving sister Shirley Cambria of Lorain.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents Steve and Viola (nee Rozic) Karabadan.

Funeral Schedule

Friends may call Monday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of funeral services at 7:30 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel – 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Reverend Craig Hovanec, pastor of St. Peter Parish will preside. Burial will take place later in Calvary Cemetery
