Gluvna Shimo Hromada

Marshall M. Board, 83, of Lorain, died peacefully on Thursday March 8th at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain.

He was born February 18, 1935 in Kenova, West Virginia and had resided in Lorain most of his life.

Marshall graduated from Ceredo-Kenova High School in West Virginia.  He worked for Ironworkers Local #17 for over 40 years and retired in 1996 as Job Superintendent.

He enjoyed woodworking and had made many pieces of furniture, cabinets and tables.  He loved working on cars and was known as the neighborhood handy-man.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years Sue Board (nee Ellis); sons:  Marshall Board of Vermilion, William Board of Lorain and Charles Board of Lorain; grandchildren:  Shawn, Megan, Alexa, Adam and Jake Board and great grandchildren:  Cameron, Nicholas and Bryan Wisenbaler.  He was preceded in death by his parents Mandeville and Frances Board (nee Gilkerson), mother-in-law Edith Ellis and daughter-in-law Tammi Board (nee Branscum).

Funeral Schedule

The family will receive friends Tuesday March 13th from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 am in the funeral chapel.  The Rev. Richard Hudak will preside.  Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon.
