Mildred M. Michalski (nee Gillenwaters), 95, of Lorain, died Sunday March 18, 2018 at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home in Lorain.

She was born October 2, 1922 in Avon Lake and had resided in Lorain most of her life.

Mildred graduated from Avon Lake High School.  She was a homemaker who enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She enjoyed crafts and crocheting.

Mildred’s family would like to thank the nursing staff at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home and Sprenger Hospice for the wonderful care that Mildred received.

She is survived by her son Richard A. Michalski (Stephanie) of Lorain; grandchildren: Jennifer Hans (Scott), Holly Michalski-Minnich (Justin), Matthew Michalski (Lexy), Heather Michalski and Jeri Lynn Michalski and great grandchildren: Drew, Zac & Mason Hans, Jacob Jarvis, Jordyn Kuzmik and Jabari Gardner.  She was preceded in death by her husband Andrew Michalski in 1970, sons: James Michalski in the Vietnam War in 1969 and Gerald Michalski in 2017, parents John & Bertha Gillenwaters (nee Leonard), brothers Robert and Perry Gillenwaters and sister Phyllis Bluffstone.

Funeral Schedule

The family will receive friends Wednesday March 21st from 10:00 am until the time of funeral services at 11:00 am at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain.  The Rev. Edward Smith, pastor of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lorain, will preside.  Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
