Karen M. Falbo, (nee Palmer), age 61, of Lorain, passed away peacefully at Mercy New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph on the afternoon of Saturday May 12th, 2018. Born in Elyria on September 2, 1956, Karen had been a life-long resident of Lorain; she attended Lorain High School.

A former member of the Delaware Avenue United Methodist Church, Karen was a homemaker who was extremely family-oriented and dedicated to her children and grandchildren. She was accomplished at solving crossword puzzles and enjoyed casino gaming in her free time. She was a cat fancier who never passed on the opportunity to feed any feline that came to visit. She also enjoyed watching day-time dramas on television.

She is survived by daughters Dianea “Dee” Huhn of Lorain, and Karen “Bird” Falbo of Sheffield Lake, sons Stanley Natale Falbo of Amherst and Eric A. Falbo of Elyria, step-son Michael A. Smith of Lorain, eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, sisters Patricia J. Fetter of Lagrange, Tina Dorsey of South Amherst, and Georgette Lukens of Tampa, Florida along with her brother George Palmer, III also of Tampa.

Karen was preceded in death by her husband Stanley Falbo on June 9, 2017, her father George Palmer, Jr. , and mother Karen J. Palmer (nee McKee).

Funeral Schedule

Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel – 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel; Reverend Rich Henry, pastor of Amherst Church of the Nazarene will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
