Michael C. Koscho, age 76 of Lorain, passed away peacefully in his home on the evening of Sunday June 17, 2018. Born in Lorain on March 12, 1942, Mike was a 1960-A graduate of Lorain High School where he was a member of the varsity baseball team. He went on to receive his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics from Ohio University.

Mr. Koscho was employed as a General Foreman for General Motors at both its Elyria and Sandusky production facilities. He retired in 1997 following a career that spanned thirty-two years with the automaker.

A veteran of the Army National Guard, Mike was a long-time parishioner of St. Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church. He was also a social member of Italian-American Veterans Post # 1 in Lorain.

Mr. Koscho enjoyed watching baseball and was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians. Additional interest included golf and bowling.

He is survived by his wife of fifty years Rose Marie (nee Carocci), and sons Michael (Peggy) Koscho of Fayetteville, Georgia, and Jason (Julie) Koscho of Amherst. He also leaves grandchildren Michael N. Koscho, John “Jack” Koscho, Kathryn Koscho, Sophia Koscho, and Annette Koscho, along with sister-in-law Mary Lou Madaras of Avon Lake and brother-in-law Dave Karhusz of Amherst.

Mr. Koscho was preceded in death by his parents Michael & Mary (nee Zabrusky) Koscho

Funeral Schedule

Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. A Parastas service will be conducted there at 7:00 p.m. Panachida services will be Friday beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel; the Divine Liturgy will follow at 10:00 a.m. in St. Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church – 2711 West 40th Street. The Very Reverend Nicholas R.A. Rachford, JCL, pastor of the parish will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
