Robert L. Wallace, 74, of Sheffield Township, died Friday October 5, 2018 at Mercy New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain while surrounded by his family.

He was born November 7, 1943 in Wheeling, West Virginia and had resided in Sheffield Township for the past 53 years.

Bob graduated from McKinley Vocational School in Wheeling, West Virginia in 1961 and then served with the US Navy from 1961-1964.  He worked at CEI in Avon Lake as an Electrician retiring in 1993.  Afterward, he worked for Great Lakes Livery in Lorain as a driver and transporter.  He enjoyed working on cars.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years Mary Ann Wallace (nee Palmer), sons: Robert W. (Kathy) Wallace of Sheffield Twp and Ryan M. (Candice) Wallace of Lorain; grandchildren: Amanda (Brad) Pelc of Lorain, Robbie (Molly) Wallace of Sheffield Twp and Morgan Wallace of Sheffield Twp; great grandsons: Parker and Chase Pelc; brother James Wallace of Ashville, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Belva Virginia Wallace (nee Danhart) and brother Raymond Wallace.

Funeral Schedule

The family will receive friends Monday October 8th from 5:00-8:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain where a memorial service will be held Monday at 7:30 pm.  Private family interment will take place at Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
