Paul M. Firment, age 82, of Elyria Township, passed away peacefully at O’Neill Healthcare Center in North Ridgeville on the afternoon of Sunday February 23, 2020. He was born in Numine, Pennsylvania on November 13, 1937 and had been a resident of Ohio since his childhood.

Paul was a veteran of the United States Army and fulfilled duty assignments as a PFC from 1961 through 1963.

He was employed as an inspector at General Motors Corporation’s Parma production facility and retired in 1987 following a career that spanned more than three decades with the auto manufacturer. He was a long-time member of U.A.W. Local 1005.

A parishioner of St. Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church in Lorain, Paul enjoyed hunting and fishing in his free time. An avid fan of the Cleveland Indians, he also took great pride in his 1961 Chevy Impala SS exhibiting it at numerous car shows and cruise-ins along the north coast.

He also leaves grandchildren Nicole Firment, Amanda Scarl, Jessica Coleman, Ryan Firment, and Jennifer Firment.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Anna (nee Shulik) Firment.

Paul's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and caregivers in the west wing of O'Niell Healthcare for the love, care, support, and compassion that they exhibited during his residence and treatment there.
