Jean Ann Dziak (nee Klein), 81, of Sheffield Village, died Wednesday November 17, 2021, at Avon Oaks Nursing Home, where she spent her recent years receiving wonderful care.

Jean was born November 22, 1939, in Lorain and resided in Sheffield Village since 1963.

Jean graduated from Lorain High School, class of 1957 B, where she was a member of the National Honor Society.  She attended the MB Johnson School of Nursing becoming a Registered Nurse. Over the course of her career, she worked at St Joseph Hospital, the Lorain City Health Department as a public health nurse, and several Catholic schools in Lorain.

She was a member of St Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Lorain, and had been a member of St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elyria Township and Holy Trinity Slovak Catholic Church in Lorain, where she was baptized.  She was also a member of St Ann’s Lodge #114 and the 7Ettes, a group of seven life-long friends from the Lorain High School Class of ’57. They met regularly for dinners, fellowship, and travel.  Jean also enjoyed bingo, gardening, and going to the beach. 

She is survived by her husband Andrew P. Dziak, children: Andrew J. Dziak (Mary Jo) of Wakeman, Timothy Dziak of Columbus, Christine Fenik (Theodore) of Sheffield Village and Douglas Dziak (Leigh Anne) of Arlington, Virginia; grandchildren: Rachael, Patrick, Danielle & Andrew Dziak and Jennifer & Nicholas Fenik.  She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph & Frances Klein (nee Znamenek).

Funeral Schedule

The family will receive friends on Jean’s birthday Monday, November 22, 2021, from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain where the rosary will be prayed Monday at 3:45 pm.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday November 23, 2021, at 10:30 am in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 2143 Homewood Dr, Lorain.  The Rev Ronald Brickner, a family friend, will preside.  Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
