Thomas A. Ondeka, age 62, of Lorain, passed away at the Cleveland Clinic on Monday November 20, 2017 following a brief illness. Tom was born in Lorain and was a 1973 graduate of Admiral King High School.

For the past twenty-six years he had been employed as a baker for the Schwebel’s Baking Company in Solon; he was a long-time member of Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers' Local 19 of Cleveland.  Previously, he had worked as a millwright in the pipe mill at U.S. Steel Corporation’s Lorain-Cuyahoga Works.

Tom was a former parishioner of Holy Trinity Church in Lorain. He was also a member of the American Slovak Club who enjoyed league bowling, fishing, and gardening in his free time.

He is survived by brothers James (Judy) and John (Brenda) Ondeka both of Lorain, along with sisters JoAnne Norris (Jerry) of Elyria, Jacqueline Augustinelli also of Elyria, and Frances Ohly (Chris) of Amherst. Tom also leaves a host of nieces and nephews along with his former spouse Maureen Costello of Lorain.

He was preceded in death by his father Paul T. Ondeka, Sr, in 1988, mother Mary J. Ondeka (nee Olsavsky) in 2016, brother Paul T. Ondeka, Jr. in 1968, and nephew Carson Driver.
