Felisa Solis (nee Carrion), 81, died peacefully on Monday, May 7, 2018, surrounded by the love of her family at Huron Woods in Ypsilanti, Michigan, her home for the past four years.

She was born in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico on February 23, 1937 and moved to Lorain in 1950 with her parents and 13 siblings.

Felisa was devoted to her family and church ministry and especially loved singing in the choir.  She was always full of joy especially when she was with family, music, and a dance floor.  Felisa knew how to live life to the fullest.  She had an unbreakable faith, found strength in prayer, and was inspired by the Serenity prayer.   She also loved to sing and after a few moments with Felisa, one would find themselves singing along to her favorite songs.  Felisa personified feliz which in Spanish means happy.

She was preceded in death by her first husband of 26 years Andres Solís; her parents Hermogenes Carrion and Pilar Torres; sisters Paulita Ergh, Inocencia Torres and Ernesta Contreras; and brothers Ignacio, Genaro, and Felipe Carrion.

Survivors include her children Teresa Emerick (James) of Boise, Idaho,  Benjamin Solis (Patricia) of Canton, Michigan, Margarita Solis-Deal (Darryl) of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Celina Solis of Columbus, Ohio;  her grandchildren, Benjamin Solis, Antonio Solis, Andrew Emerick (Ellen) and Allison Emerick; brothers Domingo and Felix Carrion of Lorain and Louis Carrion of Orlando, Florida; sisters Maria Berrios of Lorain,  Sister Joaquina, MSBT of Ponce, Puerto Rico, Isabel Van Deventer, of Saline, Michigan and Regina Medina of Sunrise, Florida and her second  husband Victor Ortiz.
